Welcome.
Come On In And Make Yourself At Home.
Pleased to meet you. My name is G.R. Thomas and around these parts they call me...

The Legend

because when it comes to writing heart stomping country lyrics, swapping tall tales, down home cooking, playing hot pool, and chasing pretty women -- I'm as good as they come.

A Daughter & A Son
Article from September 2002 Issue of
The Gamecock

Well it's hot summer time again and I am following the little chickens around trying to find shade.

Everyone has a family and I was lucky enough to have a daughter and a son. So I wrote this poem about them....

When the white horse and his rider come after me,
I leave behind me a daughter and a son.
Two Pieces of gold, these things are a part of me.

Though I may be rich and my wealth you may never see
I leave behind me a daughter and a son.
These things are a part of me.
Love is something we all have, look around you.
These things are a part of me.

When the white horse and his rider goes by
You may catch a glimpse of me
Looking for the green grass
On the other side of the hill.

Where everything ceases to be
Through the mountains and valleys
And forever in time.
Where only God can see,
I leave in your care a daughter and a son
These things are a part of me.

Till next time, God Bless and goodbye.
